Darrin Cherewayko (dirt) drums and vocals
"18 rabbit" is an original rock band from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada that has been in existence in various incarnations since 2001.
The group performed many shows across the Prairies and Ontario while writing their debut CD, "smoking gods", released in 2002.
Vocalist/bassist Ryan Felstead, guitarist/vocalist Les Mitchell, and drummer/vocalist Darrin Cherewayko took a step forward with the release of the band’s second full length recording, "our place in the shadows", an experimental slab of hard rock sprinkled with electronica, in 2005.
Now in the information age, the band was able to attract listeners worldwide on FM and Internet Radio. They continued to grind out their energetic live performances and released their third CD, "the blame is ours" and first DVD, "troika" in 2007, somewhat of a noisy and welcome return to the basics.
Their biggest shows to date soon followed as they closed out the year with another retreat to their basement sanctuary. Currently, 18 rabbit are preparing to release their fourth disc, “one state of being” and second DVD, “12.28”.
Having performed shows with artists as diverse as Jet Set Satellite, Buckcherry, Thornley, Great White, State of Shock, Harlequin, The Northern Pikes, and Shiny Toy Guns, the boys are looking forward to hitting the stage with a bang in 2009.
